Jennifer moved to Los Angeles to dance on the tv show In Living Color, before her breakthrough role in Selena, where she starred as Selena. This movie earned her widespread fame for her performance and she was even nominated for a Golden Globe. She became the first person to have a number one album and film in the same week in 2001.
In 1997, Jennifer was married briefly to Ojani Noa, a model and actor. Then in 2001, she got engaged to and married Cris Judd, but they separated a year later. Lopez married Marc Antony on June 2004. February 7, 2007, Jennifer gave birth to twins, Emme Meribel and Maximilian David. Despite being busy with her family and both acting and music career, Lopez replaced Ellen Degeneres as the female judge the tenth season of American Idol. While her career skyrocketed, her marriage crumbled. On July 2011, Jennifer and Marc announced their plans to separate.
In 2012, Jennifer took a season off of American Idol to film a role in What to Expect When You are expecting. Unfortunately, the movie was not as successful as they had hoped, and Jennifer went back to American Idol.
